Why on earth do you close so early?? A coffee shop should be open at least until 10pm! I would love to vist, relax, enjoy entertainment and eat and drink, but not between 7am-5pm - I work!
I'm glad you asked! We've always wanted to be open late and I understand where you're coming from (I work at Fedex 9-5). And we tried statying open until 7 pm during the week and 9 pm Friday and Saturday night for 8 months. Unfortunately no one showed up! Unless we had live music, we sat there pretty much by ourselves. As you can understand, I cant afford to run a business with no customers. We chose the square for its charm and history but frankly, after 5 PM its pretty much a ghost town. We had optimistically hoped that we might, in a small way, help turn that around but, alas, it just hasnt happened. So until someone can tell me how to get folks like you to show up after 5, I'm, afraid, sadly, it's just not cost affective. By the way, we are now open until 6 weekdays and I invite you to stop by on Saturday or Sunday to try us out. Thanks for your comments. - Walt
